you woke up in a strange morning
you find out you can fly
but that you don’t even want to
you woke up in a devil’s quarry

just take these wings you see
and then you can fly like me
you’re so wonderful it’s scary
to every tom and dick and harry
or was it daedalus?
he built these wings for us
so that i could fly to you
and you can melt away
gravity its crush?
i woke up in a stranger’s morning
i find my mouth taped it was yawning
i could not speak or breathe
the yawning forced me free
now i can sing this melancholy
