i lost my fucking mind today. 

i bought a nikon d800, the only functioning digital camera in the house that isn’t also a phone. 

it’s unclear whether it will survive the 15 day grace period, be traded in for a canon with “better” video, or fall by the way of other stabs at taking plunge into pixels where i otherwise swim in scans. 

it is not unlikely the cognitive dissonance rendered by this purchase will spawn a sub-blog devoted solely to this digital venture. 

i put zeiss glass on it—a lens i have to focus manually. it softens the blow. but no matter how hard I squint it isn’t portra…
